Catalog description

An extension of MATH 104; covers additional mathematics topics relevant to teaching elementary mathematics. Includes algebra, additional study in geometry and measurement, probability and statistics, graphing and further emphasis on problem solving and reasoning. Required of all early childhood education and special education majors. Prerequisite: C or higher in MATH 104 or department permission. MATH 205 and MATH 230 are equivalent courses, credit will not be given for MATH 105, 205 and or 230. For Legacy General Education, this course may be taken for general education credit (G2) and satisfies the Foundations for Lifelong Learning Mathematics Requirement. For Gateway General Education, this course may be taken for Cornerstone-Quantitative Literacy (QL) credit.
