Catalog description

This course provides prospective and practicing teachers with opportunities to learn and apply theoretical foundations of second language acquisition to teaching in the classroom. Participants will learn and apply effective research-supported methods for developing English language learners’ conversational and academic language competence, as well as learning content in linguistically supportive environments, and developing literacy skills through evidence-based structured literacy approaches. Offered two times a year. Prereq: EDUC 561
