Catalog description
Cardiovascular and pulmonary function. Covers heart muscle, electro-mechanical properties of the heart, hemodynamics, mechanics of ventilation, gas transport and cardiopulmonary insufficiencies. Laboratory exercises include use of human subjects, animal experimentation and computer simulations. 2 hrs. lec., 3 hrs. lab. Offered in spring. Prereq: BIOL 211, 362 or 263, 356 and CHEM 231 or 235 for the B.S. in biology; CHEM 103 and CHEM 104 for the B.S. in allied health technology.
