This course provides an in-depth exploration of generative artificial intelligence and AI literacy, equipping educators with the knowledge and skills to use AI effectively to support their work and learning. Participants will learn about core AI technologies, such as machine learning, natural language processing, and adaptive learning systems. Additionally, participants will examine fundamental AI concepts, including generative, predictive, and adaptive models, and their applications in education. Participants will critically evaluate AI's strengths and limitations, with a focus on ethical considerations, bias, accuracy, and misinformation and analyze potential societal impacts from broader AI use. Participants will recognize how AI is shaping the future of learning and society and develop strategies for leveraging AI in their roles as educators and learners.
