Catalog description

The course examines theoretical aspects and clinical management of cognitive and communicative impairments with emphasis on right hemisphere disorder, traumatic brain injury, dementia, and other degenerative neurological conditions. Etiologies of these conditions, including neurological correlates for presenting symptoms, will be reviewed. Assessment and intervention models with be discussed, with attention to the cognitive aspects of resulting communication disorders. Prerequisites SLPPG 501: Neurological Bases of Communication Disorders SLPPG 526: Aphasia
