This course provides an overview of the organization, delivery, and financing of medical and pharmaceutical care in the United States. Emphasis is placed on the interconnected roles of pharmacists and other healthcare professionals, as well as the key institutions that shape patient care. Students will explore historical, social, economic, and political influences, analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the healthcare system, and consider strategies for improvement in contemporary practice.
