Advanced Communication with the Spanish Speaking Patient

Catalog description

This elective will develop the basic verbal and written skills required to effectively communicate with the Spanish speaking patient in the pharmacy setting. There will be a strong focus on patient interviewing skills and counseling on the most common topics seen in the community setting. This course assumes the student is already familiar with basic Spanish and therefore introductory level Spanish. Prerequisites One year of college level Spanish or equivalent or permission from instructor.
