The Osteopathic Teaching and Leadership Course is an experiential course that encompasses a learning community, practicum, and service-learning experiences. The course is to be completed in the second year of the Applied Master of Osteopathic Education. The learning community portion of the course introduces the students to the foundation of teaching and learning. The practicum portion includes a variety of experiential educational experiences, including teaching and table-training during OMM labs, physical diagnosis workshops, and ultrasound labs. Students will actively engage in leadership and community service activities through their assigned leadership liaison role. Community service activities will include activities with Health Outreach through Medicine and Education at shelter events for patients experiencing homelessness.
