Students will learn introductory operational management concepts of designing, managing, and controlling business processes in manufacturing and services industries and its impact on the organization's competitiveness in the global market. The topics discussed in this course are the design of products and services, strategic capacity planning and management, manufacturing and service processes, facility layout, process design and analysis, quality management, supply chain management concepts, and inventory management.
