World Dance History

Catalog description

World Dance History introduces students to global dance practices of peoples from pre-historic times to present day. In this survey course, students will investigate the impact of culture, gender, politics, religion and their adaptation to world dance forms. Students will experience World Dance History through lecture, demonstration, discussion, readings, research, live experiences and a variety of digital media. Attendance at a live world dance performance/event will be required.
