Research in Chemistry

Catalog description
Students will engage in a research-based scientific investigation of a project-of-interest under the guidance of a member of the Natural Sciences faculty at MCC. Students will meet weekly with the research mentor to discuss progress in the project and to address experimental issues that may arise. Students are expected to spend an additional 180 hours of research associated with the project. This will include bench research, the writing of a final research paper and an oral presentation associated with the project. This course can be used to fill a technical elective for the CHM.AS degree.
