Catalog description

Examines how social media has affected various stakeholders in the sports industry including athletes, teams, leagues, journalists, public relations professionals, fans, and content creators. Considers theory and practice to investigate the disruption of existing mass media norms, the implications of this disruption, and the evolution of new models of engaging with sports. Guest speakers provide first-hand knowledge about the role of social media for professionals working in the industry.
