Information on dimensions of sexuality; characteristics of healthy sexuality; anatomy and physiology; gender roles; relationships; sexually transmitted infections/diseases; contraceptive issues and concerns; sexual victimizations; and sexuality through the life cycle This course provides students with an overview of human sexuality, garnered from scientific research and theory. The primary goals are 1) to increase cognitive competence and understanding of human sexuality concepts based on theory and research, and 2) to promote sexual health, which is the integration of the biological, emotional, intellectual, and social aspects of sexuality, in ways that are positively enriching.
