PHYS 2121 or PHYS 2111 may be taken concurrently. Mechatronics Engineering majors must complete PHYS 2121 . Fundamentals of calculus-based electric circuit analysis. Topics include Ohm’s law, resistors, Kirchhoff’s current and voltage laws, Mesh and Nodal analysis, independent and dependent voltage and current sources, source transformations, Thevenin’s and Norton’s theorems, superposition, maximum power transfer theorem, capacitors, inductors, and steady-state and transient analysis for circuits with storage elements. Two hours of lecture and three hours of laboratory.
