Content Area Literacy

Catalog description

In this course, candidates will explore theories, research, and methods for integrating evidenced-based literacy instruction in the content areas. Literacy strategies that are designed to increase vocabulary acquisition and comprehension of expository texts (traditional print, digital, and online resources) are introduced and practiced. The course includes a field experience, technology integration, and research. This is aligned with state and national standards.
