Teaching Mathematics in Grades P-5

Catalog description

This course consists of the integration of mathematics concepts, principles and processes into the teaching of mathematics in preschool through fifth grade. Emphasis is placed on the understanding of curriculum content; current trends in teaching mathematics; use of appropriate mathematical manipulatives; and planning for and evaluating instruction for all learners. This course includes a field experience to enhance learning and is aligned with state and national standards.
