Professionalism and Ethics for Victim Advocacy

This course provides an in-depth examination of the ethical standards, professional responsibilities, and conduct expected of victim service professionals. Students will examine core ethical principles, including confidentiality, informed consent, professional boundaries, conflicts of interest, documentation practices, ethical decision-making, and professional accountability. Emphasis is placed on role clarity, ethical collaboration, supervision, and adherence to professional standards that support responsible, credible, and ethical victim services practice.
