This course clarifies and grounds the practical functions of pastoral ministry and congregational leadership in a biblical ministry model as participation in God’s continuing reconciliation activity. We would consider the relationship between God and our ministry, some practical implications of this, and the role of personal formation in faithful ministry theologically. THEO/PMIN 4833 Leadership Focus (3 cr.) This capstone course is for students seeking credentials in the Church of God (Anderson, IN). Students will complete five theological commitment papers covering Commitment 1: Sin and Salvation (including Membership, Baby Dedication, Communion, and Water Baptism); Commitment 2: Holiness (including Marriage and Sexual Purity); Commitment 3: Trinitarian Theology; Commitment 4: Nature and Authority of the Bible (including Hymnody and Hymnology); Commitment 5: Imago Dei (Image of God, Women in Ministry and Leadership, and Sexual and Gender Identity). Students will incorporate theological content from courses completed in their degree and research of Church of God (Anderson, IN) and related resources identified by Leadership Focus. THEO 4923 Special Topics in Theology ( 3 cr.) This course is designed to address topics of special interest in theology. Topics would vary according to student interests and curriculum improvement needs. Prerequisites: Junior standing or instructor's permission. Offered spring semester: odd numbered years. THEO 4993 Honor Studies ( 3 cr.) Honor Studies are open to students with initiative and capability in individual study and research. The course is designed to allow students to do advanced work in an area of particular interest to them under the supervision of a selected faculty member.
