This course provides a presentation of the basic legal system, its terminology, and its principles as applied to professional and amateur sports. Emphasis is given to identifying and analyzing legal issues, exploring the ramifications of those issues, and limiting the liability of sports organizations. SMGT 4911-3 Sports Management Internship I (1-3 cr.) This course is designed to provide paraprofessional experience in the field of sports management. The internship is a supervised work experience with an organization approved by the academic advisor. Written reports regarding the experience and employer evaluation are required. Credits vary, with 40 hours worked equating to one credit hour. SMGT 4921-3 Sports Management Internship II (1-3 cr.) This course Is designed to provide paraprofessional experience in the field of sports management. The Internship Is a supervised work experience with an organization approved by the academic advisor. Prerequisite: Junior Standing with at least 30 credits in business-related courses.
