Consideration of factors in self-understanding and interpersonal relations. Mate selection, changing roles of men and women, and problems of marital adjustments are investigated. Socialization of children and problems of parenthood are considered. The effects of family violence, including children and spousal abuse, are discussed. PSYC/SOCI 2303 Social Psychology (3 cr.) A study of the nature of the social structures that man has developed and their influences on the functioning of human individuals and groups. Emphasis is given to interactive processes involved in socialization, leadership, attitude formation, motivation, cognition, and self-concept formation. Prerequisites: PSYC 1103 and SOCI 1103. Offered spring semester: even-numbered years.
