Catalog description
Prepares nursing students to provide care for women during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period, as well as to provide care for newborns through simulations, lab experiences, and off-site clinical experiences. The real-world settings will include labor and delivery units, postpartum units, and neonatal intensive care units (NICUs). This course focuses on the principles and practices of maternal and newborn nursing, emphasizing the physiological, psychological, and cultural aspects of childbearing.
