Basic Musicianship

Catalog description

A basic course deals with nomenclature, notational symbols, and music organization. Drills to acquaint the student with sight singing and keyboard. Approximately one-third of the time is used to develop basic conducting skills for congregational singing and knowledge of hymnology. Designed for the non-music majors with insufficient background to begin MUSI 2102. The course does not count toward the music requirements for the music major. Offered every semester.
