Methods of Teaching Secondary Social Studies

Catalog description

This course is designed for prospective secondary social studies teachers; the course provides the teacher candidate opportunities to learn and demonstrate knowledge, skills, and dispositions appropriate for teaching social studies. Attention is given to curriculum design, classroom management, assessment, research-based best practices, interdisciplinary approach to social studies, technology in the social studies classroom, and professional development. Oklahoma Academic Standards (C3) are basic to the class content. Thirty (30) hours of field experience are required.
