Catalog description

This course prepares early childhood professionals to promote mathematical and scientific concepts in children from birth to third grade. Topics include one-to-one correspondence, sorting, building shapes, measuring, estimating, classifying, patterns, terms, graphing, observing, predicting, problem-solving, and discovery through inquiry-based hands-on exploration. Five (5) hours of field observations in a specified early learning environment are required. Offered every fall semester.
