Special Topics in Media Studies

Catalog description

Special Topics in Media Studies is intentionally designed as a rotating survey course that specializes in a niche area of media studies. The course presents students an opportunity to engage in media studies at a deeper level, whether understanding and assessing media from the position of content, context, audiences, or industries. Special Topics in Media Studies would enhance critical thinking and analytic skills and teach students how to shift media consumption from a passive leisurely activity to an active, socially engaged role.
