Catalog description

This capstone class reviews current and historically significant feminist writings on the ways in which patriarchal structures of authority affect what students know about experiences of women, gender, and/or sexuality (WGS). Students position themselves as creators of knowledge related to WGS and as members of self-critical communities who are transforming society. The course involves readings, discussions, group activities, and individual assignments, including a self-initiated culminating project that students develop over the course of the semester and share with wider audiences. SC. Prerequisite: WGS 201 or WGS 202 and at least 12 semester hours in WGS courses, or permission of instructor.
