Catalog description
This course helps emerging artists transition to sustainable professional careers in the arts and entertainment industries. Through a combination of lectures, workshops, guest speakers, and practical assignments, students will learn how to articulate professional artistic goals, manage personal and project budgets and finances, develop their personal brand, market themselves, and navigate contracts and professional agreements. By the end of the semester, students will have created a toolkit of practical resources — including budgets, marketing materials, and professional documents — that can be applied to their artistic practice. Prerequisite: Junior standing or permission of instructor.
