Examination of the principles and practices of literacy development using scientific research on reading and writing instruction. Focus on instructional strategies, materials, and programs aimed at teaching reading and literacy development and targeting the specific needs of developing readers and writers. Prerequisite: Graduate standing or permission of instructor.
