Catalog description

This AYA math and science methods course prepares future 7-12th math and science teachers with innovative teaching practices, such as inquiry-based learning, sense-making in math and science courses, integration of technology, authentic assessments, problem-solving methods, and more. This course includes a field experience where students will be in the schools for 50-70 hours. They will practice the methods learned in the course with either middle school or high school learners. Open to AYA Integrated Mathematics majors and AYA Integrated Science majors.75 or higher. Prerequisite: TCE 191 and EDP 201 and EDL 204 with a grade of B or higher in each course; complete 62 graded credit hours or more; earn a cumulative GPA of 2. Co-requisite: EDP 301 and TCE 454/TCE 554 .
