Catalog description
This is one part of a concurrently-running pairing of courses that prepares preservice teachers to enter the middle-childhood classroom with a flexible and culturally and linguistically responsive professional practice that enables them to serve their future students of all diverse identities and needs. In this part of the course, students will engage with the question: what does it means to be a culturally and linguistically responsive middle-school teacher? This work will be further applied in the paired course. Prerequisite: Retention in appropriate Middle Childhood Cohort.
