Introduction to and application of the principles, methods, and major theoretical orientations of sociology in providing a basic understanding of the social aspects of human life with a focus on U.S. society. SOC 151 serves as a prerequisite for upper level sociology classes and as an entry course for the SOC major, SOC minors and SOC thematic sequences.
