Catalog description

A didactic clinical medicine module course designed to help the student develop the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively evaluate and treat conditions of the gastrointestinal system. Students discuss normal anatomy and physiology, the role of genetic and social behaviors on the development and expressions of disease, appropriate health screening exams, common symptoms and physical examination findings, appropriate investigation/diagnostics, treatments across patient presentations and prognosis of various disease states. Prerequisite: Acceptance to the Physician Associate Program. Co-requisites: PAS 628 , PAS 629 , PAS 632 , PAS 633 .
