Catalog description

A didactic year course designed to develop a student’s knowledge and skills to navigate the roles, responsibilities, and limitations of the bedside ultrasound in clinical practice. Students will explore the clinical use and professional maintenance of ultrasound equipment, unique terminology, physics, limitations and benefits of various tissue density and transducers, variable image display methods, and appropriate use of doppler imaging. Prerequisite: Acceptance to the Physician Associate Program. Co-requisites: PAS 604 , PAS 624 , PAS 625 , PAS 626 , PAS 627 .
