Pharmacology

Catalog description

This didactic year course is a system-based approach to introduce the student to basic pharmacology concepts necessary for an understanding of clinical pharmacology and resource stewardship. This course includes concepts of pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics; including receptor physiology, and introduces pathophysiologic basis for selection of pharmacotherapeutic agents in disease states and prescriptive stewardship of agent selection to preserve efficacy, community health and reduced societal cost. Prerequisite: Acceptance to the Physician Associate Program. Co-requisites: PAS 601 , PAS 602 , PAS 603 , PAS 612 , PAS 613 , PAS 621 , PAS 622 , PAS 623 .
