Evidence Based Medicine and Clinical Research

Catalog description
A didactic year course designed to help the student develop the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively cultivate a systematic review process of the medical literature that serves to support or change medical practice. The student will consider the ethics of scientific investigation, formulating clinical questions, evaluating the literature in light of their unique clinical question, contemporary healthcare law, and clinical practice, as well as how to apply their skill set into the standard of care in the healthcare industry- including the development of evidence-based medicine and practice defining models into practice guidelines. Prerequisite: Acceptance to the Physician Associate Program. Co-requisites: PAS 601 , PAS 602 , PAS 611 , PAS 612 , PAS 613 , PAS 621 , PAS 622 , PAS 623 .
