Catalog description

This course examines population health principles as applied to advanced nursing practice, with emphasis on integrating clinical care, prevention strategies, and health systems thinking to improve outcomes for defined patient populations. Students analyze epidemiologic data, social determinants of health, health disparities, and quality metrics to inform evidence-based clinical prevention and health promotion strategies. The course also explores ethical considerations, health policy, and healthcare system factors that influence access, equity, quality, and cost of care, preparing students to apply population health concepts within diverse clinical and organizational settings.
