Comprehensive Psychiatric-Mental Health Care for Adults and Older Adults

Catalog description
This course provides a comprehensive overview of psychiatric-mental health care for adults and older adults with an emphasis on evidence-based practices specific to these populations. Students will synthesize advanced knowledge and clinical decision-making skills necessary for the comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and management of psychiatric disorders in adult populations. Through integration of didactic coursework and direct patient clinical care, students will develop core PMHNP competencies in safe, ethical, collaborative mental health care in accordance with evidence-based standards delivered in a complex health care system. Prerequisites: NSG 602 , NSG 603 , NSG 604 , NSG 606 , and NSG 607 .
