Catalog description

Sound Design is the process of crafting audio to fit a specific context. This might involve sculpting a sound to fit an electronic music track, or creating and manipulating audio for video games, film, and other media. You will learn how to build sounds from scratch using an essential collection of tools. We will cover working with Digital Audio Workstations, processing sounds with a variety of effects, making field recordings, and mixing and mastering. There is a particular focus on synthesis, explored through modular synthesizers and music programming languages. You will also have access to the Miami University Electronic Music Studios. Cross-listed with IMS.
