Creative Audio Coding

Catalog description

This course introduces the skills and concepts necessary to use coding languages to create customized sound and music. The languages are approached from a practical perspective, gently leading the student through a limited set of basic functions, and introducing the concepts behind their use. We will cover both script-based languages such as Javascript, and graphic-based languages such as Max. A series of projects will involve using these acquired coding skills to create sounds, music and/or soundscapes. We will also cover best practices for using AI to generate and manipulate code.
