Catalog description

This course comprehensively introduces the principles, techniques, and applications of additive manufacturing (AM). Students will explore AM technologies, such as Stereolithography (SLA), Selective Laser Sintering (SLS), Direct Metal Laser Sintering/Melting (DMLS/DMLM), Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM), Directed Energy Deposition (DED), Electron Beam Melting (EBM), and many more. Topics include the advantages and limitations of AM compared to traditional manufacturing methods, design considerations, and applications in different industries. Prerequisite: MME 231 and MME 223 or equivalent or permission of the instructor.
