Catalog description

This course will explore how a group of former colonists constructed a new nation out of other nations’ territories, and what this creation meant for people living within and beyond its borders. Centered on nation-building, it will cover constitutionality, citizenship, diplomacy, political economy, territorial expansion, and warfare. Cross-listed with AMS.
