Catalog description

Taught annually each summer in the Rocky Mountain Region of the western United States. Students identify, classify, and interpret field data to communicate interpretations related to the geologic evolution and natural resources of the region. Students work outdoors to individually create geologic maps using standard field gear, GIS generated maps/satellite image, geophysical data, and GPS devices. Field methodologies, structural/geophysical interpretation techniques, and student map presentations are the subject of evening lectures. SC. Prerequisites: GLG 301 , 322 , 356 , and 357 or equivalents or permission of instructor.
