Catalog description
This course exposes students to estate planning techniques that they would use in the role of a financial planner. Students will create an estate plan by performing an individual situation analysis and developing a comprehensive estate plan that includes lifetime transfers and gifting, the utilization of wills, trusts and partnerships, and postmortem planning. The course emphasizes solving a client’s estate planning problems by providing students with the tools to develop practical strategies that focus on a client's goals and objectives now and in the future. Prerequisite: FIN 251 . Cross-listed with BLS 254 .
