Introduction to Mechatronic Systems

Catalog description

This course introduces students to the fundamental principles of mechatronics, a multidisciplinary field integrating mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, and control systems. Students will learn how to analyze, design, and build integrated systems that combine these disciplines. The curriculum covers key topics such as sensors, actuators, microcontrollers, signal conditioning, system modeling, and computer programming. Through hands-on projects, students will gain practical experience in programming embedded systems and creating functional prototypes, preparing them for more advanced studies and careers in robotics, automation, and smart product design. 2 Lec. 1 Lab. Prerequisite: CIT 153 or 163 , ENT 193 or equivalent and completion of an engineering technology associate's degree or permission of instructor.
