Application of statics and strength of materials to analyze machine components. Topics include stress, deflection, fatigue, and failure theories as applied to gears, shafts, bearings, fasteners, and other elements. Emphasis on integrating analysis into overall machine design. Format: 2 Lectures, 1 Lab. Prerequisite: ENT 272 (Strength of Materials) with grade C or better.
