Catalog description

Focuses on the processes of “world-making” inherent in imaginative literature. Using “fantasy” or “science fiction” as umbrella terms for literature that tells a story about the imaginative constructions of society, self, and other, this course will survey the history of the genre and examine selected primary texts, which may include short stories, poetry, fiction, art, and film.
