Diagnosis and Treatment in Mental Health

Catalog description
This course will educate students on the etiology, nomenclature, diagnosis, treatment, referral, and prevention of mental, behavioral, and neurodevelopmental disorders. This course explores the process of intake interviews and mental status evaluations. Students will be able to evaluate biopsychosocial history, mental health history, and psychological assessments for treatment planning and caseload management. This course will focus on techniques and interventions for the prevention and treatment of a broad range of mental health issues. Students will gain an understanding of assessment and treatment planning for a broad range of mental health issues while considering legal implications. Prerequisite: EDP 683 .
