This course provides students with a comprehensive exploration of adult learning. Students will delve into foundational theories and models that explain how adults learn, including humanistic, cognitive, social learning, and transformative learning perspectives. Students will critically examine factors influencing adult learning, such as motivation, prior experience, context, and diversity. Through case studies, discussions, and practical application exercises relevant to various health professions settings, students will learn to analyze complex learning situations and facilitate optimal learning environments for adult patients, colleagues, and communities. Emphasis will be placed on applying theoretical constructs to real-world challenges in health professions education.
