Catalog description

This course introduces students to chemical process safety. Specific topics of discussion will include management and risk assessment, toxicology, industrial hygiene, dispersion models, fire and explosion causes and prevention, relief systems, and various case studies. Emphasis will be given to the application of chemical engineering education to chemical process safety. Prerequisites: CPB 204 (with a grade of C or better) and (CPB/ MME 403/MME 503 or CPB 414/CPB 514 or CPB 318 or CPB 418).
