Catalog description

475 Biomedical Engineering Design II Second course of the biomedical engineering senior design sequence. This course continues introducing the students to the design process, focusing on prototype development, product testing and manufacturing, regulations and standards and economic analysis. The course also introduces concepts related to working effectively in teams, project management and scheduling and engineering ethics. Students will learn the roles played by disciplines other than engineering in the development of biomedical products, such as the role of the physician, regulatory bodies, marketing and manufacturing. Students will learn to work as design team to use practical design methods to build and test a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints. Prerequisite: CPB 474 .
